O.Q Why did you go natural?
N.O Well, it was actually my Mom who inspired me because her hair has been natural for a very long time. So she encouraged me to keep my hair natural after school.
#MyKpenkpeshie is a natural hair feature on the everyday Ghanaian woman and her natural hair journey. Kpenkpeshie is a Ga word which has long been used to describe tough natural hair. And thats how I grew up calling my hair even up untill now. Join me on this journey as i get to understand why Ghanaian women are going natural and how far their natural hair journey has been.
So recently, I told my boyfriend now my fiancĂ© of my intention to wear my natural hair during the wedding and guess what ? He said âEh?â And laughed. But it wasnât a laughter of scorn to belittle me. I donât blame him as I had been referring to my hair as kpenkpeshie after some days of not combing it. And all he could see was flatish clumpy hair. But he loves my hair too.
I then said, âherh! I am going to blog about your reaction! Do you think there arenât beautiful hairstyles for natural hair for weddings? Let me educate you!'
The Jollof wars hasn't been won yet. So whilst Nigeria and Ghana battle on who makes the best jollof, here are some awesome Jollof memes to enjoy and share.
One of my fears before deciding to go natural was what a man i would come to meet would think of it. I donât know why i had that thought. Was it because most Ghanaian men have become used to seeing their women in relaxed and any change might be met with resistance?
I finally finished watching Game of Thrones from Season 2 to 5 within a month. Aside my very comic reaction to the #RedWedding I didnt suffer much right to the end. Unfortunately, I came across a spoiler on Mashable which revealed Jon Snow's death. So i was pretty much prepared for that. But not the fact that he was stabbed horrifically by his own men and steward each murmuring 'For The Watch'. TRAITORS!!!
But i don't think Jon Snow is dead. I have been pretty accurate predicting some scenes even before they happened. Ask my boyfriend who says i have watched too many movies hence my accuracy. Crowd laughs! Here are my reasons why I think Jon Snow isn't dead.

Massage involves pressing, rubbing and manipulating your skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. When you visit a massage therapist they may use their hands and fingers for massage, but may also use their forearm, elbows and feet. Massages may range from light stroking to deep pressure. This can be done on the back, feet, head, shoulders or the full body!
Over the years, bride price has changed / evolved from family to family. There are some commonalities, which can be found in most families. Have you stopped to wonder what each bride price item really means? I am referring to the more traditional items and not the iPads and laptops demanded by some families. I had a chat with one of my Aunties to find out exactly what goes into the bride price for our family (GA by the way) and according to her this was the list presented to my cousin who was getting married then to a Fante man. The list differs from tribe to tribe in Ghana.
A question I have asked myself over the years when I found myself in a relationship. A relationship which I wouldnât describe as dubious but one which nevertheless made me think. When you are a 30 year old woman and yet to walk down the aisle its interesting how the whole world seems to give you suggestions on whats good for you in terms of a man of course. Unless you are a strong woman; mentally , you will find yourself gravitating towards what the world offers on silver platter which if you were to look closely at is wooden.
What is it about Dumsor that it makes one lose vim to do anything productive? Even if that thing doesn't involve the use of electricity? Sighs! Thats exactly how I felt just when I was about to dive into making this Mango and Avocado salsa, totally killed my vim mood and I moved the recipe to the next day. #DumsorMustReallyStop !
Soo... have great 10 minutes fun trying out this salsa which rocks with seafood or grilled chicken! Yummy!
When I was asked if I wanted to be a âGangLeaderâ for a blogwalk as part of #blogcamp15, I saw it as an opportunity to do something different and exciting! After all how many times did I get the chance to capture a suburb of Kumasi with my own gang members? Like never.
#SuameGang, #AsafoGang and #AdumGang were the three gangs set to pitch against each other to determine the best gang to have the best and most photos of a suburb in Kumasi. After much planning and strategizing, my gang #SuameGang won! What a feeling it was too! We had worked hard, walked through mazes of Suame magazine metalwork shops and foundries and communicated pretty well for a group in which many people had never each other before until the walk.
I learnt some very valuable lessons whilst I was a GangLeader of the #SuameGang which I would I believe helped in helping us to win
