$300M Bright International Amusement Park Launched by President Mahama
Family entertainment in Ghana is limited so imagine how excited i was to watch President Mahama cut sod with the Greenhouse Group Chairman, Mr Zheng Xiangming for the Bright International Amusement Park, a state-of-the-art entertainment destination located in Afienya, Tema. The amusement park will be built in the 1,200 acres of Tema’s New City Free Zone and it will be a vast combination of manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, hospitality, and real estate.
Upon completion, the Bright International Amusement Park is expected to feature a five-star leisure resort hotel with 160 rooms and 20 independent presidential villas, a 5,000-capacity international conference and exhibition center, a 160,000-square-meter water park, 500 high-end golf villas, an artificial beach, waterfront restaurants and sightseeing yachts.
President Mahama described the facility as “a world-class project that embodies Ghana’s industrial renaissance and the 24-hour economy dream,” and he endorsed an official agreement between Greenhouse Group and Hong Kong-based Hongchen, signalling stronger international collaboration.
Chairman Zheng Xiangming described the project as “a premier entertainment and commercial landmark in West Africa,” emphasising Greenhouse Group’s commitment to industrial localisation, employment creation, and integration into Ghana’s 24-hour economy. In the future, we will deeply integrate into Ghana's 24-Hour Economy, ensuring that this place is vibrant by day and brilliantly lit by night," Zheng added.

On a side note:
Whilst all this investment is beautiful and promising for the country, I’d like to ask what exactly is the plan for the renovating of the Efua Sutherland Park? This space holds such good memories for millions of Ghanaians and to watch it not get any modern development is cruel. The park is bushy, gets terribly muddy when it rains and only gets to see any activity when private organisations book the space for events. It’s like everyone has jie eye on it but it’s such a key landmark and space which has a huge potential for family entertainment thus generating revenue for the government. It really breaks my heart to see the forlorn Ferris wheel and broken down train. Super depressing!
