FashionistaGh held its annual shopping festival once again and it was still an unmissable event. The three day shopping festival #fghshop2015 was all hustle and bustle in the bristling 33 degree heat. Despite numberous air-conditioning, the heat just refused to leave the white enclave drenching both vendors and buyers in uncompromising sweat! Nevertheless both participants had a grand time strolling through hundreds of stands and emptying their pockets for the latest African fashion and accessories.

There was a mix of African fashion and accessories for women and men such as these brogues.

Competition was on every corner as many vendors offered similar products to their prospective buyers; African-print accessories (bags, shoes, necklaces, earrings) Beads accessories, natural hair and skin products and clothing. You almost could smell the competition; strong whiffs of discounts here and there.

What is a fashion event without music?

ObaYaa had a great time with her shoppers who couldn't get enough of her chiffon blouses and necklaces.

Brands such as Selina Beb, Poqua Poqu, ObaYaa, RootsbyNaa, Eya Naturals, Kaymu, Sleek, Woodin, Nallem, Surfline Gh, Pregnancy and Beyond showed off their newest collections and services and to attract more customers, offered crazy discounts.

There was make-up tutorial sessions, a runway show, brand presentations, raffles and free giveaways by several vendors.

Speaking to several vendors revealed that the turnout for this year’s event was lower than previously held ones. The May Day holiday was a higher turnout compared to the other days. One vendor commented that she wasn’t happy about the publicity which she thought was on a lower scale this year. Despite this, most buyers were seen clutching bags from Poqua Poqu and Body Butter Co.
